Following the absurdist shores of 10th Grade’s Illyria, the "Literary Theater" now turns its gaze toward the stifling, humid summers of 1920s China. If Twelfth Night was a comedy of "mistaken identity," then Cao Yu’s masterpiece, "Thunderstorm" (Lei Yu), as interpreted by our 9th-grade students, is a peak tragedy of confinement and eruption. As the heavy curtains of the Zhou mansion rise, these teens step through thirty years of mist and resentment to touch the souls imprisoned by an era long gone.
ISASC continues to celebrate a landmark season of university admissions. Recently, The Chinese University of Hong Kong extended 2 offers with full and half-tuition scholarships. Middlebury College, ranked 13th among National Liberal Arts Colleges, and Boston University, ranked 42nd by U.S. News (with 3 new offers, totaling 4), also issued offers to our graduates. As of March 30, the 20 prospective graduates have received 162 offers from global universities, spanning the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong China, and the mainland China, with cumulative scholarships exceeding 2.11 million USD.
