With the start of the school year just around the corner, a wave of learning is once again taking place at the ISA Wuhan campus.
自8月21日至8月28日,来自全球超30多个国家和地区的新老教职员工,重返武汉爱莎校园。从学术战略、教学筹备、课程体系、学生管理,到共同树立爱莎新学年的发展目标,爱莎社区成员凝心聚气,踔厉奋发,为即将到来的新学期,做好最充分的准备!
From the 21st to the 28th of August, new and old staff from more than 30 countries and regions returned to the campus of ISA Wuhan to learn about the academic strategy, teaching preparations, curriculum and student management, as well as to work together to set up the development goals for the new academic year, members of the ISA community gathered together to get ready for the upcoming semester!

In particular, he pointed out the importance of academic teams in data collection and analysis, pedagogical innovation, curriculum design and assessment, aiming to continuously improve the quality of teaching and learning experience. In addition, he highlighted key points such as team localisation, curriculum pathway planning, teaching standards alignment, leadership development and data system optimisation. He provided a clear development blueprint and personal growth path for ISA’s staff team, deepened the educational philosophy of education innovation, quality improvement and humanistic care, and laid a solid foundation for ISA’s development into a world-leading education ecosystem.
Establish PLC at ISA Wuhan and Continuously Improve the Quality of Teaching and Learning
打造武汉爱莎专业学习社群,持续提升教学质量
作为一处真正践行IB全人教育精髓的学校,爱莎专业学习社群(即PLC: Professional Learning Conference)已创立3年之久。爱莎国际教育集团学术中心总监Gary Butner校长强调了PLC作为促进个人成长、团队凝聚、专业分享与领导力提升的重要平台,其核心价值在于不断获取新知与技能、激发灵感与动力、巩固团队与社区、激励员工成就以及构建积极向上的文化氛围。
The ISA Professional Learning Conference (PLC) was established three years ago as a school that truly practices the essence of IB holistic education. Gary Butner, Director of Academic Centre of ISAIEG emphasised the core value of PLC as a platform for personal growth, team bonding, professional sharing and leadership development, which is to acquire new knowledge and skills, to inspire and motivate, to strengthen the team and the community, to motivate staff to achieve and to build a positive culture.
Gary校长还详细介绍了PLC的多种呈现形式,包括互动式工作坊、信息共享、小组讨论、行动研究讨论与报告等,旨在覆盖教学、学习、领导力、学生关怀、课程教研、行政及园区运营等多个领域。并鼓励所有教职员工积极参与PLC,分享自己的教学与学习经验,共同推动武汉爱莎缔造百年名校。
Mr. Butner also introduced in detail the various presentation formats of PLC, including interactive workshops, information sharing, group discussions, action research discussions and reports, etc., which are designed to cover a wide range of areas such as teaching, learning, leadership, student care, curriculum teaching and research, administration and campus operations. He also encouraged all staff to actively participate in the PLC, share their teaching and learning experiences, and work together to promote ISA Wuhan to build a century-old school.
Cultivating Scientific Literacy & Research Skills: Enhancing Practical Opportunities for Students

在武汉爱莎独特的IB+STEAM项目制学习实践中,武汉爱莎在过去的一学年取得硕果累累,特别是在今年暑假武汉爱莎代表队首获2024全球未来太空学者大会(中国赛区)冠军,并蝉联两届亚军。学校还接连荣获Cognia、IBDP和PYP等重磅国际认证,在教育质量与学术标准上秉承高标。
With the unique IB+STEAM programme learning practice, ISA Wuhan has achieved a lot of successful results in the past school year, especially this summer when the ISA Wuhan team was the first winner of the Global Future Space Scholars Conference 2024 (China Region), and has been the second runner-up for two consecutive years. The school has also been awarded international accreditations such as Cognia, IBDP and PYP, and is committed to high standards of quality and academic excellence.
武汉爱莎学校园区总校长、武汉爱莎文华学校校长贾茜指出,科学教育是学校未来发展的核心竞争力。学校已采取一系列措施,如开设更加丰富的STEAM课程,并与武汉理工大学合作,为学生提供更多实践机会, 践行“以学生为中心”的教育理念,促进学生的全面发展。
Juliana Jia, Head of ISA Wuhan Campus and Head of ISA Wenhua Wuhan School, pointed out that science education is the core competitiveness of the school’s future development. The school has taken a series of measures, such as offering a richer STEAM curriculum and cooperating with the Wuhan University of Technology to provide students with more practical opportunities, the ‘student-centred’ educational philosophy and promoting the all-round development of students.
Achieving Excellence in Bilingual Education and Launching a New Boarding Programme
实现卓越双语教育,推出全新寄宿课程体系
学术精进、学生参与和成功、丰富拓展活动以及全人发展将是本学年的核心目标。武汉爱莎国际教育园区副园区长、武汉爱莎外籍人员子女学校校长、武汉爱莎文华学校联席校长Mahesh Selvaraj就《目标、结构和准备——构筑成功的舞台》发表主题演讲。在办学策略方面,Mahesh校长指出,将通过英语课程提升学生的沟通能力,开发寄宿课程以满足不同背景家长的需求,并争取优异的高中成绩以吸引顶尖大学录取。
Academic excellence, student engagement and success, as well as outreach activities and whole-person development will be the core goals for this school year. Mahesh Selvaraj, Deputy Head of ISA Wuhan Campus, Head of ISA Wuhan International School and Co-head of ISA Wenhua Wuhan School, gave a keynote speech on ‘Goals, Structure, and Preparation at ISA Wuhan School— Setting the Stage for Success’. In terms of the school’s strategy, Mahesh pointed out the need to improve students’ communication skills through the English language programme, to develop a boarding programme to meet the needs of parents from different backgrounds, and to strive for excellent high school grades in order to attract admissions to top universities.

In terms of teacher professional development, he advocates the use of resources such as the ISA Education Group to provide teachers with opportunities for continuous professional growth. At the same time, he places emphasis on students’ extracurricular activities and mental health, encourages the promotion of all-round development of students through student clubs, sports and arts activities, and provides the necessary academic and psychological support services to fully prepare every child for success.
Successfully Applying National Utility Model Patent via Outstanding STEAM Learning

本次培训大会,来自武汉爱莎文华学校的G11与G12年级学生,围绕近期在STEAM项目式研学中取得的学术成果,进行精彩的展示。
今年暑期一举斩获全国冠军的太空城设计方案,让爱莎社区成员,与武汉爱莎一起飞往太空。同学们通过对太空居住环境的全面规划,包括酒店、住宅楼、科研中心、天文台、医院等设施的设计,为未来人类在金星创造一个既舒适又宜居的生态环境。
In this training conference, G11 and G12 students from ISA Wenhua Wuhan School gave a wonderful presentation of their recent academic achievements in STEAM project-based learning. The Space City design, which won the national championship this summer, allowed members of the ISA community to fly into space with ISA Wuhan. The students created a comfortable and livable ecological environment for future humans on Venus through a comprehensive plan for the space living environment, including the design of hotels, residential buildings, research centres, observatories, hospitals and other facilities.
学生们还特别分享了一项创新成果——用于远程修复的无人机式3D打印机。该项目针对高空电缆维修的难题,提出了低风险、低成本、高效率的解决方案,通过无人机搭载3D打印设备,实现高空电缆的快速修补。这一创新设计不仅提高了维修效率,还降低了作业风险,展现了科技在解决实际问题中的巨大潜力,充分展示了爱莎学子在STEAM课程中的学习成果和创新能力。
The students also shared a particular innovation – a drone-based 3D printer for remote repair. Aiming at the difficult problem of high-altitude cable repair, the project proposes a low-risk, low-cost and high-efficiency solution to realise the rapid repair of high-altitude cables through drone-mounted 3D printing equipment. This innovative design not only improves the repair efficiency, but also reduces the risk of operation, showing the great potential of science and technology in solving practical problems, and fully demonstrating the learning achievements and innovation ability of ISA students in the STEAM programme.
